ivtv-utils software package provides utilities for use with the ivtv kernel driver, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ivtv-utils
ivtv-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ivtv-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ivtv-utils *
You will get with ivtv-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
